If variety really is the spice of life, Atlanta is having a very spicy week indeed. This week’s event picks include the Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival, an urban coop tour, the Morningside Mile, the 10th annual Georgia Rides to the Capitol, and lots more. There’s bound to be something you’ll love. Have fun!
If you’re keeping up with your Workouts of the Week — and of course you are — you did some Fartlek runs a couple of weeks ago to build speed. Use that speed to make this week’s simple but tough workout a little less grueling. Warm up with your usual eight to 10 minutes of dynamic movements then lace up your running shoes because you’re going to be doing one mile, the hard way. What’s the hard way? Stopping every minute on the minute to do 10 burpees before continuing. It might not be the most fun you’ve ever had, but it’ll definitely get your heart beating. When you’re finished, don’t forget to cool down with five to 10 minutes of stretching then sign in or sign up to record your results. Happy running!
