Ever wished you could bike your way through Midtown, Little 5 Points, Old Fourth Ward, and Virginia-Highland without fear of being flattened by a speeding SUV? Ever thought it would be even more fun if you could do it in a ridiculous costume while supporting a great cause? Then tomorrow night is your dream come true. The third annual Atlanta Moon Ride is a 6.5-mile bike ride along a route that is closed to motorized traffic and the 100 percent of the proceeds supports Bert’s Big Adventure, a local nonprofit that provides all-expenses-paid trips to Disney World for kids with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families.

It’s crazy hot in Atlanta, and while I’m loving summertime with my kiddos, I’m ready for some relief. We’re hitting the pool as much as possible, but we thought these fun popsicles could help beat the heat even more! It’s been neat experimenting with a few different flavors to see what we like the best. The possibilities are truly endless. Down here in the South, our summer heat is not messing around. From June through August, average high temperatures in Atlanta top out in the mid to upper 80s (still, don’t call it “Hotlanta,” okay?) and that can bring a whole new level of challenge to your outdoor workouts. You could pack up your gear and head to air conditioned comfort, but outdoor exercise is great for you and the heat itself can actually have some benefits too.
