Bubble soccer is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: a game of soccer where you’re encased in a giant, five-foot bubble. It was invented in Scandinavia, land of IKEA and vikings. What could go wrong? Even when players charge one another in this full-contact version of the sport, they just bounce off and keep going… or get stuck on their backs like turtles, flailing around and trying to find their feet. The truth is, it’s at least as entertaining to watch as it is to play (check out the video after the jump to see what we mean).
If you’re ready to strap on a bubble and roll/laugh your way to victory, you’re in luck: Atlanta Sport and Social Club is hosting a one-day tourney on June 27. Grab three to five friends and sign up to become the ultimate bubble champions! If you can’t make it, don’t fret. There’s a whole organization, aptly named Bubble Soccer Atlanta, that features regular pick-up games, leagues and tournaments.
