There’s something for everyone in this week’s events. Wrap up January by learning some organic farming techniques, picking up some new healthy cooking tips, hitting a scenic trail, or stuffing your face with Krispy Kreme doughnuts and then attempting to run them off (hate to say it, but it’s going to take more than 5K).

Monday, January 26

Cook’s Warehouse in Brookhaven hosts another class in its Simple Abundance cooking series benefitting The Atlanta Community Food Bank. Learn — and taste! — recipes from True Food Kitchen’s Chef Dan Ganas at 7 p.m. Tickets are $55.

Tuesday, January 27

handsDrop in to a free workout with FitWit, one of Atlanta’s most popular group fitness classes, and find out what that “live fit, give fit” slogan is all about. Workouts are available in Midtown, Grant Park, Decatur, and North Druid Hills with multiple time options at each location. (Disclosure: WellATL’s publisher is president of FitWit.)

Wednesday, January 28

Say “ommmmmm” on the BeltLine with free trail yoga at noon. A hike/jog plus some stretchy time will get your mind and body right. It’s free, but registration is required. Spots are very limited, so sign up now if you plan to go.

Thursday, January 29

Get another chance to learn some kitchen skills, this time with the Low Fat and Low Cal Hands On class at Cook’s Warehouse in Midtown. The $65 class begins at 6:30 p.m. and is limited to 16 participants.

Friday, January 30

blastBlast Midtown offers a full-body class that’ll have you alternating between cardio on a treadmill and toning muscle with strength training exercises. Multiple time slots are available, beginning bright and early at 5:30 a.m. A single class is $28 but your first session is free. There are also locations in Buckhead and Athens.

Saturday, January 31

Enjoy the gorgeous scenery of Yellow River Park during the Stampede in the Park 5K Trail Run, starting at 8 a.m. Registration is $25.

If you’re serious about producing your own produce, you won’t want to miss the multi-weekend course on organic farming and gardening hosted by Georgia Organics and Cane Creek Farm. You’ll learn the basics, tour area farms, and get your hands dirty. The full course is $450 for Georgia Organics members.

Sunday, February 1

You’ll have to drive to Athens to take part in the Annual Krispy Kreme Doughnut Dare, but if you love those glistening glazed rings, this 5K will be worth the drive. Runners stop halfway through the course to eat 10 (10!!) doughnuts. Proceeds from your $25 registration support the UGA Miracle/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. You’re not going to turn down a dare, are you?
