Monday, November 24
Mashing isn’t just for potatoes. Hit Dance 101’s Mash It Up class at 6 p.m. to learn hip hop moves and burn major calories. $20 for a one-class card.

Tuesday, November 25
Georgia Organics (we told you about their good work, remember?) has partnered with Global Growers for the Culture in Agriculture: Global Growers Gets Your Goat event at 6 p.m. The evening of food, drinks, and art celebrates our little horned friends and proceeds from the $40 tickets provide agricultural support for local farmers.

Wednesday, November 26
Don’t put off the Thanksgiving shopping any longer. Hit up the Decatur Farmers Market from 3 to 6 p.m. for the best in local produce, cheese, honey, baked goods, and more.

Thursday, November 27
You won’t have to worry about those extra Thanksgiving calories if the Atlanta Half Marathon is on your schedule at 7:30 a.m. If 13.1 miles seems a little intimidating, there’s always the Thanksgiving Day 5K as well as the Mashed Potato Mile (for ages 7  to 12) and Gravy Gallop (for ages 6 and under).

Friday, November 28
Pack up the leftovers for a picnic lunch at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Breathe some fresh air, go for a little hike, and be sure to see the Creature Feature at 4 p.m. to learn about animals that call the Chattahoochee Watershed home. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, $6 for children (ages 3-12), and free for kiddies 2 and under.

Saturday, November 29
Get back in the swing of things with the Kile’s World Second Annual “Give Thanks” 5K at Chastain Park. $37.

Sunday, November 30
Sur la Table’s hands-on Great Fall Stews cooking class at 5 p.m. will teach you the techniques you’ll need to cozy up with a warm bowl of goodness all winter long. The class size is limited to 16, so put on your apron and register early. $69.


Do your best Forrest Gump impression at the Atlanta Georgia Table Tennis Association’s group training session. The free class is perfect for beginners. Go to the (tiny) net at 1:30 p.m. at Lucky Shoals Park.
