Move to the music and burn some calories with Zumba Fitness at Garden Hills Recreation Center at 5:45 p.m. Drop in for $15.
Tuesday, September 1
Dreaming of cool autumn hikes? Let REI school you on Fall Day Hiking Basics, from trip planning to gear to safety. This free course is offered at the Kennesaw location at 7 p.m.
Wednesday, September 2
Teaching high schoolers about the “olden days” isn’t all about telling them stories about walking to school in the snow. The New School has partnered with Homestead Atlanta for an eight-week series teaching 21st Century Homesteading skills to teenagers. They’ll learn sustainable gardening, preserving, fermentation, and more for a $195 registration fee (plus $20 for supplies).
Thursday, September 3
The Atlanta Bicycle Coalition hosts their monthly Commuter Breakfast at Q Time restaurant. It’s a chance for two-wheeled commuters to socialize and learn from each other. Stop by from 7 to 9 a.m.
Friday, September 4
We can all can with Sur La Table’s Late Summer Canning Class at 2 p.m. Find out how to jar up a taste of summer. Registration is $69.
Saturday, September 5
Take a stroll and learn more about your health with the BeltLine’s Walk With a Doc at Lionel Hampton Trail at 9 a.m.
Sunday, September 6
Swim, bike, and run at the Callaway Gardens Triathalon. The event starts at 8 a.m., and registration is $85. If you’re not up for all that, go for the 5K. It starts a little earlier (7:50 a.m.) and is $40.
