Monday, February 23

Need to up your cardio? Or maybe you’re really focusing on strength? Knock ’em both out at Brookhaven Fitness Studio’s weekly Cardio Strength class. Catch the 6 a.m. early bird session or swing by after work for the 6 p.m. option. Drop in for $20.

Tuesday, February 24

UnknownCookbook author Carolyn O’Neil will teach y’all how to whip up healthy menu alternatives with Southern flair at the Slim Down South cooking class at Cook’s Warehouse in Brookhaven. The $45 class starts at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, February 25

A group run and beer? Yes, please! West Stride and Red Brick Brewery host a group run at 6:15 p.m. on the last Wednesday of every month. Runners are encouraged to stick around at the brewery to socialize, snack, and sample Red Brick’s beers for a discounted rate of $5.


Emory Point is hosting a free fitness open house. Check out a 30-minute HIIT workout at Orange Theory at 9:15 a.m. then dance on over to Pink Barre to get ballet fit at 10 a.m. Cap off your morning with a free coffee from The General Muir. Can’t make it on Wednesday? They’re doing the whole thing again on Friday (February 27)!

Thursday, February 26

If you’re looking for outdoor exploration inspiration, join the Georgia Adventurers Group Dine and Discover Potluck Social hosted by the Chattahoochee Nature Center at 7 p.m. The cost is $10 for the general public or $5 for CNC members. After dinner, enjoy a presentation on “Exploring the Southeastern Outdoors” by Bill Witherspoon, naturalist and nature photographer.

Friday, February 27

Would you know what to do in case of a first aid emergency? Learn the basics and earn your adult CPR certification at the Adult First Aid/CPR/AED class hosted by the American Red Cross. The $50 course runs from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Saturday, February 28

You want to run? Oh, we’ve got races for you!

The Atlanta Track Club and your very own Atlanta Hawks host the 2015 Atlanta Hawks Fast Break 5K starting at 8 a.m. The $35 registration includes a t-shirt, a finisher’s medal, and a ticket to a future Hawks game… a pretty sweet deal if you ask us!


If you like The Amazing Race or just think you’re really good at scavenger hunts, check out the Great City Race Decatur. Individuals and teams of two will test their mental and physical abilities starting at 10 a.m. Pricing ranges from $30-$45, depending on when you register and if you’re part of a team.
