Your Week in Wellness: June 8–14, 2015

The weather is heating up and so are the health and wellness events in Atlanta. From Soccerfest to an Adventure Run to a 10K Possum Trot, there are tons of ways to add a little fun to your fitness this week. Here are seven of our faves.

Monday, June 8

Shop for a cause! Urban Perform is Sevananda’s Be The Change partner for the month of June. Buy your normal groceries at this popular food co-op and then round up to the next dollar (or give a specific amount) at checkout. Those extra pennies go toward UP’s mission to eliminate fitness deserts in the ATL.

Tuesday, June 9

Channel your inner Richard Simmons with 6 p.m. Aerobics on the BeltLine at Historic Fourth Ward Park. It’s free, just be sure to register.

Wednesday, June 10

Like yoga? Like Chuice (that good-for-you chewable juice stuff)? Hit up Chuice’s Ocean Flow yoga at 6:30 p.m. It’s a donation-based class, so give what you can, and then enjoy a complimentary Chuice tasting.

Thursday, June 11

A 60-minute running-based scavenger hunt with raffle prizes, giveaways, AND no entry cost? Yes! Lace up those sneakers and head to Road Runner Sports in Alpharetta for the Adventure Run, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, June 12

Cook’s Warehouse Midtown and Chef Megan McCarthy host Girl’s Night Out: Gorgeous Girls Gone Green. The $45 class is chock full of green goodness recipes and runs from 7 to 9 p.m.

Saturday, June 13

Kick off the Woman’s FIFA World Cup with a 5K run and 3v3 tournament for all ages at Soccerfest, held this weekend at Candler Park. Gooooooooooooooooooaaaaaal!

Sunday, June 14pt-logo152

The 37th Annual Possum Trot 10K is a flat course along the Chattahoochee River. In a city of hills, hills, and more hills, we’ll take those flat courses where we can get ’em! The race starts at 7 a.m. Registration is $30 in advance and $40 on race day, plus there’s a $15 one-mile Fun Run for the kids.
